Dubai Cola at Gulfood 2011

A company has introduced Dubai Cola to the world at Gulfood 2011. A carbonated drink made from dates with a hint of honey, could soon be hitting our shelves. Ironically its not actually made anywhere in the UAE but rather originates in the country that now brings us Redbull, Austria.

The manufacturers are looking for a local distributor for the product which went into production 6 months ago. They claim to have had inquiries from all over the world... not sure about that one.

I haven't spoken to anyone who has tried it yet but one things for sure, they need a new catch phrase! Also, no camel's in the super high quality advert? That's just sloppy.

If you've tried it and don't actually work for Dubai Cola, do let me know what you thought.

I personally wish DUBAI COLA commercial success.

Let it be known, however, that the idea of coming up the cola with the date twist or content is not actually new. Somebody has even secured the official registration of the trademark "Date CoLa" from the UAE Ministry of Economy of Commerce and has came up with prototype samples in aluminum cans from The Netherlands as early as 2004.

The original owner of "Date CoLa" is just waiting for the right time to launch the product together with his other dates-related foods and services, which will eventually create a wave in the global date palm, beverages and food industries!

Sounds rather interesting! Thanks for the info.. Look forward to trying out Date Cola. A Bigger variety of drinks on our shelves is surely not a bad thing.. hopefully we'll see it sooner rather than later!

Thank you very much foodie...

Literally, our day is never complete without date. Be informed that our ultimate objective is to create perpetual global demand for dates!

I will be sending additional info in your email.

You maybe interested to write an info on our company, the NEW DATELAND SDN BHD in Brunei Darussalam and the ALL NATURAL DATES-ENRICHED TUNA BURGERS, which pair with our Date CoLa in our soft-launching in the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam.

Thanks for the feedback, I know there's been a lot of interest in this product - admittedly mostly because of the name

I actually had some of this drink. I came across it at a little grocery in Sharjah. I must say, I thought it tasted awesome. Kinda reminded me of A&W's Root beer, but with a "date" twist. I've been recommending it to my friends already but unfortunately we've never seen the drink anywhere else. I hope they decide to launch soon, cause I'm pretty sure the drink'll get a really welcome response.
Cheers!

Dubai Cola tastes rather good !!

After a few initial runs in EU, it is now being produced in UAE.
